Rome Surroundings
The attractions and places to visit in Rome are really a lot, in downtown as well as in the surroundings. If during your holiday in Rome you wish to get away from the crowd and noise for one day, you have plenty of discovery opportunities.
First of all, we suggest that you visit the Appian Way Regional Park, with its artistic jewels and glimpses of the countryside, and then drive till the area of the so-called Roman Castles, where you can explore medieval villages, Lake Albano and enjoy the local food & wine excellences. Or we suggest that you drive along the coast, to visit Ostia Antica and its amazing archaeological site close to the mouth of the river Tiber, or towards the hinterland, to the slopes of the Tiburtini mountains, to discover the old town of Tivoli with its wonderful Villa d’Este, from the Renaissance period, and Villa Adriana, historic residence of Emperor Hadrian, or to the north, to be enchanted by Lake Bracciano, in a fascinating journey through nature and history.
